What we collect
The data we collect falls into three categories:
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which articles people read and how they found us. This collects anonymized data including approximate location, device and browser type, and pages visited. It does not identify you personally. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on.
Email. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address with our email provider for the purpose of sending you articles and updates. We don’t share or sell it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Contact. If you email us, we keep the message so we can reply and follow up.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for basic functionality and for analytics. If you log in as an administrator, additional cookies store your session and display preferences. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Embedded content
Articles may include embedded content such as videos or maps from other websites. Embedded content behaves as though you had visited that website directly, and those sites may collect data about you, set cookies, and track your interaction with the embedded content.

Who we share data with
We don’t sell or trade your data. It’s processed by the services we use to run the site — our hosting provider, analytics, and email platform — each of which has its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings. Email subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe. Emails you send us are kept as long as they’re useful for correspondence.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or unsubscribe at any time. Email hello@windydinghy.com and we’ll handle it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or similar laws — we’ll honor those requests regardless of location.
